Liverpool City Brass Band
This band is the runner up in the Open D Grade NSW State Brass Band Competition during 2008, 2009 and 2010. This band has been together and playing for a very long time already. They play in different kinds of gigs such as council festivals, ANZAC marches, dawn services, cancer fundraisers, fashion shows and of course during Christmas celebrations. Singleton Town Band
This band was established back in 1878. They used to only have brass instruments, but these days they also include woodwind instruments in their band. They also play as a modern day concert band in different events and occasions. The band members in their band have different ages from 10 years old to over 65 years old. There are even members who were already around since 1940s. These elders are always present in rehearsals and they play with all their hearts. Peter Knight is their director. Bondi Brass
This band is used to be called the Waverley Bondi Beach Band. This band is considered as one of the best and greatest brass bands in Sydney. This band is always in the lookout for new members. So if you are interested, then don’t hesitate to join. At the moment most of group members are from Batemans Bay. They rehearse in the Coogee Randwick RSL at the corner of Carr Street and Byron Street, Coogee every Thursday night at 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. There are certain instances when they change venue for their practice though. So, if you are a new comer or you are planning to meet with them to join the band, make sure you keep in contact with them.
Brisbane Brass Music Association
Their new headquarters is at ST Judes Anglican Church. This is located on the corner of Mcllwraith and Buller Street Everton Park. This place is where they converge and rehearse. Their band members are categorized into four which are the A Grade band, B Grade band, junior band, and the D Grade band. These categories have different practice schedules. Each community category of band has its own competition. If you want to be a new member or if you are just a visitor, you are always welcome during their practice. The band is based in the northern area of the suburbs in Brisbane, but their members come from different parts of the metropolitan area. This association aims to promote the Brass Band Movement in Queensland. They have around 100 members and 80% are 25 years old and below. This is also a very family oriented organization. There are family members who join this organization whose members are playing in different categories.
Esperance Brass Band
This is a community based brass band in South West of Western Australia. They have players from different walks of life and different ages. They perform in different events and occasions such as the Agricultural Show, Australian Day, and ANZAC Day. This band was also the one who provided the music for the Carols by Candlelight which was performed at the Esperance Soundshell. They rehearse every Thursday night at the Esperance Showgrounds. So come in, grab a beer, bring some money to gamble on Australian pokies and enjoy the music.
